YAY! Somebody awesome made us a banner, but I am less than awesome and don't know how to put it up there. Any team member want to take charge of the comm prettification?

ETA: Sage saved the day and put the banner up, and I was able to fiddle with the colors a bit, but this is maybe not one of my greatest strengths, so anybody with a bit more aptitude than I is more than welcome to take over the prettification process.

ETA 2: And the awesome banner-making somebody is bingbulette. *applauds wildly*

here, I've stolen eledwenlin's CSS from the current angst banner:

.headerimage {
height: 400px;
background-image: url("http://crocolanthus.com/images/polar%20bears1-large.png") !important;
background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
background-attachment: scroll !important;
background-position: center !important;

margin-bottom: 5px;
}


You'll need to replace the URL and change height to the correct number of pixels.

And as for where this goes: Go to the Customize Journal page. Switch the user to the comm. Go to Custom Options. Click the Custom CSS tab. And then paste the above in the box. (You're keeping the default layout's stylesheet, so the 3 questions above should read Yes, No, Yes, and the "external stylesheet URL" box should be empty.

Thanks! I'd wandered in the direction of Customize Journal --> Custom Options myself, and when working as ds_team_romance Custom Options just comes up "Style not found" and nothing else. As I was already straining the limits of my tech know-how, I'm hoping to shove that particular headache off on some innocent team member.

Bah...I got the custom CSS bit to go in, but the banner isn't showing up! I'm sure I've overlooked something completely obvious. :(

Hmph. That's frustrating. The LJ tips for putting in a header have 2 parts: the first is putting the coding for the banner in and the second is moving the rest of the display down so it doesn't cover up the banner. But their first coding is different from that above, so I don't know if it's necessary here. My brain resists understanding these things. It is a bad brain.
